Health Share vs Traditional Health Insurance

Health share programs and health insurance look similar in concept — both involve regular monthly payments and help with medical costs — but they're fundamentally different. Health shares are not insurance and are not regulated as insurance. That distinction matters legally, financially, and in terms of who they fit.
